The Post-Market Drug Evaluation (PMDE) Program launched on September 1, 2022. The program provides evidence-based responses to questions and concerns raised by federal, provincial, and territorial decision-makers about drugs approved for use in Canada.
The PMDE Program brings together a network of external experts in applied research, drug evaluation methodology, and data analysis from across Canada. This network is known as CoLab. It provides timely evidence to answer questions about post-market drug safety and effectiveness. Post-market drug evaluation (PMDE) focuses on drugs that have gone through the regulatory approval process and are broadly available to patients and consumers. PMDE integrates health data and real-world evidence to inform decisions on drug safety and effectiveness and other key regulatory aspects.
