This lecture will explore the background of drug shortages in Canada, highlighting their global nature and the pressing need for proactive measures.
In his presentation, Dr. Mina Tadrous will emphasize the necessity of a systematic and transparent at-risk medicine list that is independent of any specific policy while examining the ongoing development of a national list that comprehensively considers both supply chain and clinical risk factors.
This initiative serves as a foundational step and framework for supporting initiatives and policies aimed at mitigating vulnerabilities, fostering a more resilient supply chain capable of effectively navigating the complexities of drug shortages.
Dr. Tadrous is the recipient of the 2024 Dr. Maurice McGregor Award from Canada’s Drug Agency. This award recognizes rising stars in the field of health technology assessment in Canada.
