Bringing Perspectives From Canada to the ISPOR 2025 Global Conference

Leaders from Canada’s Drug Agency will join experts from Canada and abroad at ISPOR 2025, the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research’s flagship conference, held May 13 to 16, 2025, in Montreal, Quebec.

The annual global ISPOR conference brings together health technology assessment (HTA) experts and regulators, public payers and policy-makers, patient engagement leaders, representatives from the life sciences industry, and academics from around the world. Dr. Nicole Mittmann, our Chief Scientist and Vice-President, Evidence, proudly serves as a co-chair of the ISPOR 2025 Program Committee.

“We are thrilled to see the ISPOR global conference held in Canada this year, providing a showcase for advancements in the HTA community in Canada and a forum for us to learn from peers facing similar issues and challenges,” said Dr. Mittmann. “Beyond knowledge exchange, the conference offers valuable opportunities to connect and build upon many cross-border collaborations that are already underway.”

Our participation at ISPOR 2025 reflects our organization’s commitment to continuous learning and staying at the forefront of discussions that help shape the future of HTA in Canada and beyond. Attendees and speakers from Canada’s Drug Agency include leaders in scientific methods, health economics, ethics, and value assessment for drugs and other health technologies.

Throughout the event, our team will participate in panels, lead discussions, present posters, and absorb insights. Some of our key sessions include:

  • Evolution of Evidence — Innovating for the Future of HTA (a plenary moderated by Nicole Mittmann that includes Sudha Kutty, Executive Vice-President, Evidence, Products, and Services)
  • Value Flower: How Can We Make It Blossom in Value Assessments (Suzanne McGurn, President and CEO)
